As the divorce proceedings get underway for the separation of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, the 53-year-old actor has requested that all forthcoming information remain confidential.

In court documents obtained by People, Depp has filed a petition to request that the details of their divorce stay out of the public eye. The filing was submitted on July 15 and states, “All documents produced by [Depp] in this action and/or any third parties subpoenaed in this action … shall be designated as ‘Confidential Information’ herein.”

The request goes on to state that Depp will be adhere to the information requested by Heard and her legal team. “Johnny does not dispute that Amber is entitled to the majority of the information sought in her discovery requests and subpoena.” The report also states, “He is willing to produce the documents necessary for Amber’s evaluation of the relevant issues in this case, such as division of community estate and spousal support. He has asked, however, that a confidentially agreement be executed prior to the production of documents in order to protect the parties’ privacy.”

The confidentiality request comes as a result of Heard’s refusal to sign the privacy agreement. The filing claims that “Amber has inexplicably refused to sign any agreement to maintain confidentiality in this action. Johnny is therefore asking the Court to issue a protective order.” Depp has also requested that all witnesses and experts involved in the case be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement to keep the details of the divorce from being reported in the news.

Heard, 30, filed for divorce in May after 15 months of marriage. Since then, the details of their tumultuous relationship have garnered constant media attention.
