A suspected gas leak in NYC’s East Village has caused major devastation and destruction for many in the area, but none more so than those who watched their apartments go up in flames following the explosion on Thursday March 26.

Four of the area’s buildings have been severely burned while two have completely collapsed, affecting  many including celebrities such as former Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy star Drea De Matteo.

The 43-year old took to her Instagram to post shocking pictures of the seven alarm fire with the caption, “NYC’s finest trying to put out the flames to mine n many others apartments. Speechless. Praying for those that are hurt.” She then posted another picture of the destruction writing, “A hole where my NYC home of the last 22 years once stood… RIP 123 2nd Avenue.”

Charlotte Ronson and Sophia Rossi also lived in the buildings and took to their social media to share their grief with Ronson posting, “R.I.P 123 Second Avenue. Beyond devastating. Sending love & light. #regram @dreadematteo I love you and am so sorry beyond words…”

While there have been no casualties from the explosion and fire, news reports indicate that there are 19 injured and four in critical condition while people nearby helped those inside escape and firefighters arrived within minutes.
