It may have taken 65 years, as well as an Olympic medal and almost two decades as the patriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner klan but, Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, is finally able to live the life she always felt she was meant to live.

Caitlyn’s transgender story is opening up a whole new door for the LGBT community and is also helping people accept and understand those who identify outside of the gender “norms.”

In a new promo for Caitlyn’s series, I Am Cait, which is premiering July 26 on E!, she explains why she chose to share her story in a docu-series. “Why did I decide to do a series? I am telling my story. People don’t understand looking into the mirror and nothing seems right. Putting on clothes that you really don’t identify with. This is about getting to be who you really are.”

The promo shows clips of Jenner meeting with friends and family, including daughter Kylie, as well as riding a dirt bike and discussing all of the firsts that she is going to experience on the show.

“We’re going to do a lot of fun things for the first time. We’re going to go shopping for the first time. Maybe even some boy stuff, like ride a motorcycle, because girls do that too!”
