Grammys 2016: 5 Worst Dressed Stars

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards on Monday February 15 saw some of the biggest names in music walk away with a prestigious award. Before any honors were handed out, however, the stars took to the red carpet where some were honored as the best dressed…and others were not. Awards shows are always interesting when it comes to fashion and although some dress for a shock factor or take risks to stand-out that doesn’t always work out for the best and, unfortunately, these five stars with their unique styles were turning heads for all the wrong reasons.

5. Kacey Musgraves

Country star Kacey Musgraves can’t seem to find her stride when it comes to red carpet style and although some actually liked her purple, blue and teal ballgown, we just can’t see why. The strapless Armani Prive dress used an ombre feather-effect, which would be hard for anyone to pull off and did no favors for Musgraves. Her pulled back hair was too sharp and there were no saving graces for her look for the night.

4. Florence Welch

Florence Welch is never one to don a regular gown and the Grammys were no exception. The Florence and the Machine lead definitely did not hit the mark with her light pink moon and star embellished gown from Gucci. The storybook look was off and frumpy and definitely not red carpet worthy!

3. Denicia

Denicia isn’t one of the biggest names in the music industry, so it seems she made sure to get noticed for her fashion instead — for all the wrong reasons though. The singer wore a hot pink onesie for the major event and if that wasn’t bad enough it was dicked out with glittery wins, crosses and other jewels, not to mention there was Hello Kitty stuffed animals hanging off of it. Nothing at all could save this outfit from her hair to her glasses, but it is obvious she wasn’t aiming to win any best dressed awards anyway.

2. Z LaLa

Z LaLa was hard pressed to top her dramatic and somewhat terrifying look from last year’s Grammys, yet she tried her best. The singer donned a very, very strange artwork type dress, and an equally dramatic headpiece. There really is no explanation for why someone would choose this as their red carpet look, but it is obvious she dresses for shock factor over anything else.

1. Lady Gaga

At this point in her career, no one is really expecting Lady Gaga to arrive in anything usual, although she has donned some classic, glamorous looks lately. For the Grammys the songstress stuck to her “out-there” style that she is well known for, donning a paisley-print Marc Jacobs double-breasted coat dress. She opted to leave pants off the fashion list and also rocked dangerously high red platforms and neon orange hair. Although her makeup was in tribute to the late David Bowie, her overall look was just awful, and unnecessary.
