Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney had been together for years when they landed their gig on Vanderpump Rules. As viewers have witnessed, these two have had a rocky go at things. Initially, they were one of the reality show’s more stable couples, but that quickly changed when Tom admitted to cheating on Katie not once but twice. In spite of their difficulties, the two managed to make it down the aisle in 2016 and are on their way to having their happily ever after. While many of us may think we know everything about them, here are 7 things you didn’t know about their relationship:

7. Meeting

Kristen Doute was the one who introduced them, but during their first meeting, Tom brought a girl with him! “But he had a girl with him, that was the funny part was that finally I’m meeting this guy that supposedly wants to meet me, that’s so perfect for me, and he’s got a girl with him,” Katie told The Daily Dish. According to Tom, when they first met, there was no spark. “The very first night there was no spark,” he said. “But the second night I was introduced to her and given a little backstory, that’s when it clicked.”

6. First Official Date

Despite the fact that they met in June, they didn’t have their first date until that September! According to the couple, for their first date, they went to a Vampire Weekend concert. “It was romantic but fun,” Schwartz said.

5. Nickname

Tom and Katie have been calling each other “Bubba” throughout all five seasons of Vanderpump Rules and there’s a cute history behind this nickname. “Bubba started from babe. And then it went from Babe to Baby to Bebe… to Bub to Bubs to Bubba,” Katie said. Tom added, “And then Bubba, it just sort of stuck. “It felt right without thinking about it too much or dissecting it.”

4. Rock Bottom

The couple hit a rough patch during season five and it looked as though they weren’t going to make it down the aisle. Maloney was having trouble getting past Schwartz’s infidelities and the lies he told to cover them up, and it was during their joint bachelor/bachelorette parties in New Orleans that they hit rock bottom. After all of the chaos that ensued, they made the conscious choice to reconnect and recommit to each other to save the relationship. “We decided that all of the resentment and negative things we’re hitting the delete button. We made sure we weren’t bringing that into our future and into our next chapter. It was a quick turn around but because we both wanted it so badly we both took the time to connect with each other,” she told People.

3. Married Life

Since the couple tied the knot last summer, their relationship has felt a lot more relaxed. “Nothing has changed our dynamic or we’re not different people, but overall our approach to our relationship is very different. There’s not as much pressure or ultimatum, we’re just settling in to spending the rest of our lives together,” Katie told People. Even though there have been rumors that their marriage is already on the rocks (which caused both of their mothers to call and check in with them), the couple is happier than ever. “We are madly in love,” Katie told E! Online. “I feel like marriage really suits us. We’ve been through so much, especially since last summer.” Tom added, “We like to think that we exercised all the bad stuff. We got about 15 years worth of fighting out in about three years, so we’re good now. It’s been smooth sailing.”

2. Honeymoon

The couple went to Bora Bora for their honeymoon and stayed in bungalows that were right on top of the water. They weren’t alone either – Stassi Schroeder joined them! She had recently broken up with Patrick Meagher (for the umpteenth time) and the couple didn’t want her to be alone, so they invited her along. Stassi invited Kristen Doute to join her, but Doute had to work on their reality show that day, so she couldn’t’ make it.
