George Clooney is in love with Amal Alamuddin — and he’s going to marry her very soon!
Speaking at the Celebrity Fight Night Gala in Florence, Italy, on Sept. 7, the 53 year-old actor and activist — whom many believed would never settle down — gushed about his fiance, a British-Lebanese civil rights attorney.
After speaking about the inspiring careers of Muhammad Ali and Andrea Bocelli, George also talked about the wedding date and location for his upcoming nuptials to Amal.
“I’ve met my bride-to-be in Italy and I will be married in Italy soon, in a couple of weeks. In Venice of all places!” he said.
“In closing, I guess what I would like to say is to my bride-to-be, Amal, that I love you very much and I can’t wait to be your husband.”

George and Amal, 36, also made an appearance on the Fight Night Gala red carpet, one of their only red carpet appearances since they were first spotted together in October 2013.
The coupld has been the subject of a number of tabloid articles recently. In one from the Daily Mail, it was reported that Amal’s mother opposed Amal’s marrying George because of religious reasons, but George publicly stated that that was “completely fabricated.”
