Ellen Degeneres has made a rare comment about her private life with wife Portia de Rossi, shooting down speculation that their marriage is headed for an expensive divorce.
The 56 year-old talk show host (and host of the upcoming 2014 Oscars) is on the cover of the new issue of People Magazine, where she sets the record straight about her feelings for Portia, 41. Check out the video to see what she said, and why she admitted, “This is corny.”
She also talked about the kind of dynamic that she has with Portia, and how she “gets” Ellen and wants to take care of her. “We’re really lucky because we know how rare it is,” Ellen gushed.
It’s also rare for Ellen to address tabloid rumors about her relationship, but she grew tired of the story that she and Portia were supposedly getting a $220 million divorce.
Ellen also explained why she and Portia are sometimes spotted without their wedding rings on: Portia has a hobby that makes wearing her wedding ring painful (see the video for more details!).
Ellen and Portia have been together since 2004, and tied the knot in California in 2008. They live in Beverly Hills with three dogs and four cats.
