At first, the stories on the hit series, Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 was all about seeing how eight young mothers adjusted to life as parents. Given the success, fans have now tuned in for years and seen the now twenty year old women have grown and in some cases, formed new families. At the same time, the children, who started out as newborn babies, have now grown into elementary school kids. It is obvious that their lives aren’t the same as their peers after being raised in front of camera crews, and while they have all had similar experiences being young stars of MTV, the results of each are noticeably different. These are the Teen Mom kids ranked from best behaved to worst:

21. Aubree – Chelsea

After 16 and Pregnant and the first couple of seasons of Teen Mom 2, it seemed many fans had a hard time taking Chelsea Houska seriously, but as time has gone on she has turned into one of the best moms on the show and it is definitely reflected in her daughter Aubree. Aubree has been known to throw a fit and give her mother attitude, but Chelsea’s ability to deal with it properly and not make situations worse has made Aubree into a very well-rounded child. As she has become older Aubree has matured very quickly and has very open and mature conversations with her mother and Cole especially regarding her dad Adam. She is happy, honest, and a big help when it comes to her younger siblings.

20. Bentley – Maci

As all of the Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 child stars get older they are definitely giving their parents more attitude, but as fans know, that will never be tolerated by Maci Bookout. Although it seems Bentley has a better relationship with his grandparents Larry and Jen than with his father, Ryan Edwards, he has adjusted very well and is very well behaved. Much like Aubree, Bentley is capable of mature conversations and is very helpful with his two young siblings Jayde and Maverick. As Bentley gets older and his dad’s issues continue, it is clear he might be having difficulty expressing himself and how he feels about the situation, but he is not the type to take it out on others in his life and his level of maturity and understand has impressed many fans.

19. Isaac – Kailyn

Kailyn Lowry has not had an easy time since becoming a mother at a young age, but luckily her determination and resolve, especially to be better than her own absent mother, has made her a very good parent. Despite a rough start, her oldest son Isaac with her ex, Jo, has turned into an extremely sweet little boy who as he gets older is only getting sweeter. He is very concerned with making sure people are happy and not fighting. This is of course helped greatly by both Kailyn and Jo always looking out for Isaac’s best interests even when they are not seeing eye to eye.

18. Leah – Amber

Although Gary Shirley isn’t an extremely well liked Teen Mom star, it can’t be denied that he is doing a good job raising Leah with primary custody. All in all the show has never displayed any real problems with Leah having behavioral issues and is always good about listening to her parents whether it is Gary, his wife Kristina, or Amber. Like all kids, she has thrown a tantrum here and there, but overall she is a well behaved kid. Like Ali and Aleeah, it does seem a problem with Leah; however, when she tells both of her parents stories about each other that causes concern. She has told Gary that Amber doesn’t even pay much attention to her or do anything when she is with her, but she has said the same to Amber while also telling her mom she wants to live with her instead.

17. Jayde and Maverick – Maci

Although Jayde and Maverick are both young, they have also proven to be ahead of where it would be expected for their ages. The pair have exhibited funny and unique personalities as they have grown up in front of the cameras and despite being close in age, are very different people. Jayde seems almost like an adult with the ways she speaks and what she understands, while Maverick is more quiet, but both seem to be very good! Many were impressed when neither batted an eye when Maci left for her mom’s vacation with the other Teen Mom OG stars, where most young children would throw a fit over their mother leaving.

16. Ali – Leah

Shortly after Aliannah “Ali” Hope Simms birth, Leah Messer knew something was wrong and for years her daughter has been battling a rare form of muscular dystrophy, but Ali has not let it get her down! Ali is smart and sweet, and seems to be more of a rule follower in comparison to her twin Aleeah. Ali seems to be the kind of girl who wants to make her mother proud and is less into the dramatics than her two other sisters.

15. Novalee – Catelynn and Tyler

In all fairness, Nova is so young it is hard to rank her anywhere, but we just can’t leave Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra off! The adorable parents welcomed Nova in 2015 and have really enjoyed being parents to the adorable little girl after giving their first daughter, Carly, up for adoption when they were 16. Despite a few bumps in the road which included Catelynn acknowledging a battle with depression which may have been worsened by postpartum depression, Nova is seemingly growing up a very happy and definitely much loved child. She has shown some issues with fear that her mom will leave which has caused behavioral issues in the household, but she has seemingly adjusted very well to her mother’s extended stays in treatment.

14. Watson – Chelsea

Chelsea’s daughter Aubree became a big sister again when Chelsea and Cole DeBoer welcomed their first child together, son Watson Cole DeBoer in 2017. Watson seems to be a mini-me of his dad with charm and sweetness, but has been to known to throw a fit like all kids his age.

13. Emilee – Gary

As a “Teen Dad” versus a Teen Mom, Gary Shirley doesn’t quite get the same amount of time for his storyline that Amber does, but as Leah’s primary guardian it seems audiences definitely see more of Gary than a lot of the other dads. With more time spent at Gary’s house with Leah, fans have also got an inside look at his life with his wife Kristina and their daughter Emilee. Now that Amber and Gary’s relationship has greatly improved, Emilee has proven to be a happy young girl who doesn’t seem to cause trouble for her parents and just loves going to family events with her big sister Leah.

12. Lincoln – Kailyn

Kailyn’s son with her ex-husband Javi is a bit more of a rebel than his older half-brother, but it is clear that both boys misbehave as many kids do, but for the most part are extremely respectful of their parents. In recent seasons, Lincoln’s opposite personality than his brother has really begun to be noticeable, as he is more likely to push the envelope with his parents and tease than Isaac. Regardless, he always seems to listen and Kailyn has been praised for the parenting of her three boys.

11. Sailor and Atlee – Bristol

During Bristol’s one season on Teen Mom OG, most of the focus was on her deteriorating marriage with Dakota Meyer, and their daughters Sailor and Atlee really weren’t on camera too much. When they were seen Sailor and Atlee seemed like happy children and didn’t seem to be too impacted by the tension between their parents at the time.

10. Jaxie and Broncs – Mackenzie

Along with getting an update on Gannon when Mackenzie and her family return to MTV on Teen Mom OG, audiences are going to get a look at how her family has grown over the years! In 2014, Mackenzie and Josh welcomed their second child, a daughter named Jaxie Taylor, and in 2016 welcomed their third child, a son named Broncs Weston. Fans have little knowledge of the current state of Mackenzie and Josh’s household and daily life with their kids, so only time will tell what Jaxie and Broncs are like.

9. Gannon – Mackenzie

Fans got to know 16 and Pregnant‘s Mackenzie McKee a little better when she was selected as a cast member for the short-lived Teen Mom 3. Now, fans are going to be reintroduced to Mackenzie and her family when she comes to Teen Mom OG! In 16 and Pregnant, Mackenzie and her then-boyfriend welcomed their son Gannon, who is now 8 years old, and since he was just a baby when 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 3 aired it is hard to tell what kind of personality and behaviors he has developed — but many are looking forward to Mackenzie’s return to MTV.

8. Nova – Briana

On September 9, 2011 Briana DeJesus gave birth to her first daughter Nova Star DeJesus with her then-boyfriend Devoin Austin. After Teen Mom 3 ended after only one season, Briana became a new addition to Teen Mom 2 in 2017, expanding the main cast to five women. In Briana’s time on the show, her daughter Nova has been nothing but polite, quiet, and respectful. In fact, Nova is so quiet it seems she really doesn’t get a lot of screen time.

7. Ryder – Cheyenne

Cheyenne Floyd of MTV’s Are You the One? And The Challenge was the second star added to the cast of Teen Mom OG to fill the spot left by Farrah Abraham. Much like her counterpart, Bristol Palin, most of Cheyenne’s story revolved around her complicated relationship with the father of her young daughter Ryder. With Ryder being so young, it is really hard to rank her anywhere. She is clearly a very happy and very loved child, from both of her parents and their extended families.

6. Addie – Leah

Leah Messer’s daughter Adalynn “Addie” Faith Calvert whom she shares with ex-husband Jeremy Calvert has become one of the most entertaining stars of Teen Mom 2. As Addie has gotten older, her unique personality has really shone through, and with it there is some attitude. Leah has opened up about having problems with Addie lying, and she definitely seems to push back against authority. Addie is hilarious, but also a handful.

5. Tripp – Bristol

Teen Mom OG fans were shocked when “America’s most famous teen mom” Bristol Palin joined the series after the exit of longtime star Farrah Abraham. Bristol had one of the most publicized pregnancies in recent history after it was revealed she was pregnant at 17 while her mother Sarah Palin was campaigning for Vice President. After Bristol joined the series, her son Tripp Easton Mitchell-Johnston, was already 11 and she had two more kids with her now ex-husband Dakota Meyer. Despite being on Teen Mom, not much of Bristol’s children was actually seen, and she quit after only one season but Tripp seemed like a very reserved child. Due to his lack of screen time it is hard to rank Tripp.

4. Kaiser – Jenelle

Jenelle’s second son Kaiser is a very quiet little boy, but Jenelle has admitted that he has behavioral issues like his older half-brother Jace. As Kasier became a toddler he had difficulty expressing himself without screaming, and growing up in a volatile household between Jenelle and her ex-fiance Nathan (Kaiser’s dad) has clearly had an impact on his development. Before Jenelle’s time on Teen Mom 2 came to an end, less and less was seen of her kids because MTV couldn’t film her husband David, so it is difficult to tell what Kaiser’s attitude is going to be like as he gets older.

3. Aleeah – Leah

Aleeah Grace Simms aka Gracie is one of Leah Messer’s twin daughters who she welcomed with ex-boyfriend Corey Simms when the couple were only teenagers. As Leah Messer and Corey Simms’ twins Ali and Aleeah get older, their different personalities are really coming through. They are both at times adorably sassy, but as they get older the attitude is becoming a little more of a problem. It has become clear that Aleeah is somewhat of a drama queen and it takes a lot for Leah to get her daughter to listen to her. Aleeah has opened up that sometimes her attitude towards her sister is because she feels guilty that somehow she had something to do with her sister having muscular dystrophy which are really complex emotions for a child to have. Aleeah is in no way a bad child, just more of a handful with a bit more attitude than some of the others.

2. Jace – Jenelle

Jace Evans is unfortunately a child whose “bad behavior” can easily be sourced back to his upbringing. Generally, when fans see Jace on-screen he is extremely quiet and often responds kindly to both his mother, Jenelle, and his grandmother, Barbara. However, we have often seen him resort to hitting and throwing tantrums which Barbara says happens mostly after he stays with Jenelle. She has also spoken about his bad behavior at school and not knowing what to do about it, and there were a few episodes where they had a problem with Jace swearing. As mentioned, it isn’t hard to see where Jace’s behavior problems stem from the fact that he is constantly surrounded by conflict, either between Jenelle and Barbara or Jenelle and her boyfriends. In recent years, Jace has seemed more calm and Barbara has spoken less about his off-screen behavior, and fans are only hoping for a happy, loving childhood for the young boy.

1. Sophia – Farrah

Sophia Abraham was born on February 23, 2009 to very well-known former Teen Mom OG star Farrah who was then telling her story on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant. Two months before her birth, Sophia’s dad Derek Underwood died in a car accident, leaving Farrah a single mom. Now Sophia unfortunately hasn’t had the best role model in her own mother, and it is reflected in her attitude and actions. It was extremely clear to fans of the show while she was on that Sophia always got what she wanted when she wanted it, and if not, she would get angry. We also can’t forget when her mother coached her into putting down Nicki Minaj on social media and encouraged her to berate her own grandmother. Before Farrah left MTV she had taken Sophia out of school and opted for homeschooling instead so she could take her daughter on adventures around the world and experience different cultures and ways of life according to Farrah, only time will tell how Sophia’s upbringing will impact her behavior as a teen and an adult.
