Fans were first introduced to Jeremy Roloff in 2006 when his family’s reality show Little People, Big World first premiered on TLC and, over the course of 12 seasons, we’ve all watched him go from being a teen to a happily married father. His relationship with Audrey has been a big part of the show and, just as fans grew to love to Jeremy’s parents and siblings, they’ve also come to love him and Audrey as a couple. 8. Blind Date

They met on a blind date on January 16, 2010 when she was in her first year of college. She came home to Portland, Oregon, for a weekend and their friends (who were dating at the time and are now married) set them up. According to her, it wasn’t love at first sight. Reflecting on their first meeting, he claims that she was unprepared and she counters that he was too early!

7. Relationship Beginnings

Although Jeremy asked her out the day after they were set up, they didn’t immediately begin dating. He had to pursue her “faithfully and diligently” for two years before she would finally commit to him. Even she knows this was a bit ridiculous! “I know…I’m stubborn,” she wrote on her blog about the beginning of their relationship.

6. Long Distance Love

Once the couple began dating, things didn’t get any easier for them. They had to do the long-distance thing for three years! “We were only in the same city for a month before getting married at Roloff Farms,” she wrote on her blog, Auj Poj. Doing the long-distance thing with Jeremy wasn’t easy. He had a close friendship with another girl while he was in college and this ended up causing friction with Audrey. She wanted him to spend less time with this girl, but he didn’t initially listen to her, but he eventually put himself in her shoes and realized it was a problem.

5. Proposal

The reality TV starlet spent the better part of 2013 and 2014 hoping that Roloff would propose but she wasn’t thinking about it on the day he finally did on March 15th, 2014. He decided to propose to her on the train trestle near his family’s farm because it was their “spot.” He convinced her to go there with him on that fateful day so that they could write romantic notes on a typewriter about their future together. When it was his turn, he had her look away while he typed “speaking of marriage, Audrey Mirabella Botti will you marry me?” The next thing he knew she was screaming yes!

4. Wedding

The couple was married in September 2014 on Roloff farms in front of 300 guests in a vintage themed wedding. The food and décor, which included quilt-covered hay bales for seating and fruit cobbler served instead of cake, matched the farm setting. Audrey’s gown was pre-owned, but she customized it with a seamstress and added a low back, full skirt and ruffled, off the shoulder straps.

3. Learning How to Handle Conflict

These two have had issues when it comes to their fighting. According to Audrey, they are in the process of learning to “fight fair.” “We come from different backgrounds, upbringings, parenting, spending habits, theologies, so we are bound to have conflict. It’s not a matter of if we will fight, but when and how,” she wrote on her Instagram. “We needed to be reminded how to handle conflict with parameters that are healthy and productive, rather than harmful and destructive. We needed to start acting like teammates rather than opponents.”

2. Controversy

The couple created controversy when Audrey responded to some commenters on their website, The 50 Percent, who complained about the lack of advice for same-sex couples that she and her hubby only have advice for heterosexual couples. “We are not claiming to be a resource for same-sex marriages,” she wrote. “It is not something we agree with.” She then went on to stress that the site is really just for opposite-sex relationships. “We are for opposite-sex marriages that are striving to give more than average to their marriages,” she continued. “To live out the covenant of marriage every day, and to center their marriage around Christ. That being said, know that our content is not written to same-sex marriages, so to say that we don’t offer advice for that side is accurate.”

The couple has one child together, Ember, who was born on September 10, 2017, at 9:40 a.m., two week’s after Audrey’s original due date. They chose the name Ember because “campfires have been such a big part of our love story.” Both of them want more child. Jeremy has said that he likes the idea of a big family while Audrey wants to have four kids.
