8 Celebrities Who Think They’re More Famous Than They Are

The mark of a true d-list celebrity has always been the ability to portray a life of importance while contributing as little as possible to society. The pinnacle of this journey manifests itself in a constant presence on the front page of tabloids, celebrity blogs and the top of twitter trends while enjoying the best life has to offer at the expense of others. In order to celebrate this long-standing tradition, we’ve compiled a list of the top eight celebrities who think they are more famous than they actually are.

8. Kate Gosselin

Failed celebrity television career? Check. Exploitation of family and children to further celebrity image? Check. The 38-year-old mother of eight and star of the reality television show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” has done her best to stay in the limelight since the show’s cancelation in 2009. The result? A series of failed reality television shows, a brief stint on Dancing with the Stars and a leaked racist picture on Twitter. Keep up the good work, Kate!

7. Teresa Giudice

This table-flipping, 41-year-old mother of four has earned her reputation as the brash and fiery star of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey”. Having seemingly fought with and insulted every one of her co-stars and family members, Giudice continues to seek the affirmation of the public through a series of Italian cookbooks, publicity stunts and public appearances.

6. Kris Jenner

As far as publicity-seeking, money-hungry celebrities with little to offer, Jenner may just take the cake. The 57-year-old mother of the Kardashians has certainly tried her hardest to remain relevant following her daughters’ success by appearing in any and all reality television opportunities. More often than not, these appearances have occurred on the tail end of yet another plastic surgery operation.

5. Heidi Montag

Nothing screams false self importance more than co-authoring a book entitled “How to Be Famous: Our Guide to Looking the Part, Playing the Press, and Becoming a Tabloid Fixture”. Montag, 26, came to prominence by appearing in the reality television series, “The Hills”. Since the completion of the series, Montag has sought fame and fortune by undergoing double-digit plastic surgeries, releasing an abysmal pop album, and faking a divorce to secure a television deal. Apparently her “how to” guide to being famous wasn’t quite the success she planned.

4. Courtney Stodden

This 18-year-old starlet catapulted into the national spotlight two years ago due to her marriage with the largely unknown actor, Doug Hutchinson. When it comes to celebrities who have gained national attention for no discernable reason, Stodden holds her own. Outside of recording and releasing a handful of singles that make Rebecca Black look like Ella Fitzgerald, Stodden’s accomplishments amount to little more than wearing a few revealing outfits and her seeming inability to control her lips on television.

3. The Entire Cast of Jersey Shore

What list of undeserving celebrities would be complete without Snooki, Pauly D, The Situation and crew? Seriously.

2. Farrah Abraham

The runner-up for number one celebrity who thinks they’re more famous than they actually are goes to: Teen Mom, Farrah Abraham. Abraham, 22, gained notoriety on MTV’s reality television shows “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom”. What is one to do when their fame is fading? Release a sex tape and get kicked out of rehab, of course. Forever the optimist, Abraham put a positive spin on the tape saying, “The more mistakes I make, the better for my daughter.”

1. Amanda Bynes

Last but certainly not least, we have 27-year-old, Amanda Bynes. This former child star simply cannot stay out of the tabloids of late, with each incident more bizarre than the previous. Bynes has taken a dark turn in recent years being arrested for driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and a hit-and-run. She’s begging for attention via controversial tweets such as the one aimed at Rihanna in which the former star proclaimed that “Chris Brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough.”
