The Duggar family rose to fame thanks to their reality show 19 Kids and Counting and because of this many of us feel that we know the family. There’s a lot more to this family though than meets the eye. Here are 10 things you didn’t know about the Duggar clan:
10. They’re Snoops
The Duggar parents are insistent upon knowing everything about their children’s lives! They have publically stated that they listen to their children’s phone calls, check their emails and text messages and snoop through everything relating to their excessive number of children. Guess Duggar kids aren’t entitled to any privacy in their house full of people!

Even though the rest of us are living in modern times where women are empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies, Michelle Duggar believes it is a wife’s duty to put out every time her husband gets the urge. “Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has, and you always need to be available when he calls.”

8. Childbirth = Martyrdom
Maybe it’s the reason she never says “no” to her husband’s sexual advances, but momma Duggar actually equates child birth to martyrdom! She even went so far as to compare it to missionaries overseas who have lost their lives. Yep! Something every species does makes you a saint apparently. Who knew?

Michelle Duggar has been pregnant for 144 months of her life! That’s 12 years! Must be why she has to state that “overpopulation is a lie.” Insert eye roll here.
TLC6. Holding Hands is a No-No!
Jessa Duggar and her hubby Ben Seewald did not even hold hands before Ben proposed! Even during the wedding ceremony, the couple did not kiss! Can you imagine how awkward their wedding night would have been when they finally got to lock lips? Oh, to have been a fly on the wall!

The Duggars complain constantly about the price of food but don’t understand that when you have 19 kids (and counting), you’re going to rack up a bill of about $3000 per month on food alone! After the family scandal broke, the Duggars actually took to asking fans to donate money to them! This seems more than a bit hypocritical. Jim Bob served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999-2002, as a republican! That’s not the side that supports social welfare programs to help alleviate child care and food costs! Strangely, he doesn’t have an issue with accepting a handout himself though…

3. Michelle’s Past
Michelle Duggar may not be everything she seems on the show. According to old high school pals, the once pretty cheerleader used to party with all the boys on the football team and definitely dated guys before Jim Bob. Even old neighbors in Arkansas have come forward revealing that Michelle used to mow the lawn in her bikini and people around the block would complain for her to cover up!

Oh, wait! I think I said that already. Well here’s another infuriating piece of dirt that will leave your eyes rolling towards the heavens. The Duggars actively campaigned against an anti-discrimination bill that would have protected LGBT rights. While they’re so busy caring about what gender you identify as and who you’re having sex with, all of their pseudo-morality went out the window when Josh Duggar was exposed as a child molesting, incestuous, Ashley-Madison cheating pervert. Even the church the Duggars were associated with closed due to the leader’s resignation after admitting to “serious sins” including cheating!

This family may need a bit of an education about the science of a legal medical procedure, but leaving that aside, they should be able to identify the ghastly implications of their own words! After a visit to the US Memorial Holocaust Museum, Jessa Duggar actually compared the Holocaust to abortion! Must have got it from her mother who refers to abortion as the “baby holocaust.” Removal of cells with the potential for life versus the slaughtering and persecution of millions of people for political and religious dogma…
